In 1910, parts of the territories of the canton of Thetford-Partie-Nord and the canton of Thetford-Partie-Sud were detached to give birth to the municipality of the parish of Sacré-Coeur-de-Marie. Part of the territory of Sacré-Coeur-de-Marie separated in 1949 to give birth to the municipality of Sainte-Anne-du-Lac.
