Duvernay is a neighbourhood in Laval and was named after Ludger Duvernay, one of the founders of the current Saint-Jean-Baptiste Society. Duvernay grew out of the former parish municipality of Saint-Vincent-de-Paul; in 1965, it amalgamated with thirteen other municipalities to form the city of Laval. In terms of size, Duvernay is Laval’s largest neighbourhood and can be found near the eastern end of Laval, surrounding the neighbourhood of Saint-Vincent-de-Paul.

Duvernay is crossed by major highways, including the Laval highway (Autoroute 440) and the Papineau highway (Autoroute 19). The recent opening of the Autoroute 25 Bridge is expected to bring significant real estate development.
