Fabreville is a Laval neighbourhood named after Archbishop Édouard-Charles Fabre, Montreal’s third bishop. Being the second most populous neighbourhood in Laval, Fabreville’s population surpasses even that of several major Quebec cities. It is flanked to the north by the Mille-Îles River and borders the neighbourhoods of Chomedey, Laval-Ouest, Sainte-Rose and Sainte-Dorothée.

In 1957, the municipality of the western part of the parish of Sainte-Rose took the name of Fabreville. Three years late, Fabreville lost the portion located to the west of the Laurentian highway (Autoroute 15) to Sainte-Rose. In 1965, Fabreville was one of the fourteen municipalities that amalgamated to form the city of Laval.
