Separated from Montreal by the St. Lawrence River, the city of Longueuil is composed of the boroughs of Vieux-Longueuil, Saint-Hubert and Greenfield Park. Approximately 85% of its 235,000 inhabitants are French-speaking.
Longueuil also attracts plenty of students to its four university campuses: Université de Montréal, UQAM, Université de Sherbrooke and UQTR. The Édouard-Montpetit College and the National Aeronautical School round out Longueuil’s offering of post-secondary education. Major players in aerospace, such as Héroux-Devtek Inc. and Pratt and Whitney Canada are among the city’s biggest employers.
