Dorval
Dorval is a city in the greater Montreal area and is located on the shores of Lake Saint-Louis. A portion of the Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau Airport – still known as Dorval Airport to many – sits on the city’s lands.
In 1667, the Sulpicians established a mission at Gentilly, the former name of Dorval. Dorval was incorporated as a village in 1892, and not long after as a town in 1903. The airport’s opening in 1941 brought significant economic development to the area. So have several industrial parks. Dorval residents enjoy a library, swimming pools, a golf course, and numerous soccer and baseball fields.
