This Montreal enclave was temporarily a borough before regaining its independence in 2006. It owes its name to the London suburb of Hampstead Village and boasts the second highest household income in Quebec after Westmount.
Residents of Hampstead benefit from extensive sports facilities which include many tennis courts, soccer fields, ice rinks and more. Eighty-four percent of residents are Jewish, making the town notable for having the highest percentage of Jewish residents of any city in Canada. You’ll find no businesses in Hampstead, only single family homes and one school.
