Montreal-Nord has been a Montreal borough since 2002 and boasts a population of over 85,000 inhabitants. It originally belonged to the parish municipality of Sault-aux-Récollets but broke away in 1915 to form a city.

Montréal-Nord borders the Des Prairies River, along whose banks many splendid heritage houses can still be found. You’ll also find numerous parks in Montreal-Nord, as well as cultural attractions which include four libraries, a cultural centre and a community centre. The area’s many businesses include two shopping centres: Place Bourassa and Carrefour Forest.
