Senneville is a sparsely populated and affluent village at the western tip of the island of Montreal. It gets its name from the old Parish of Senneville in Upper Normandy.
Senneville boasts some of the last farmland to be found on the island of Montreal. The remains of the Senneville Windmill and the Fort of Senneville hearken back to this largely bygone era. Most of the village’s buildings date back to the early 1900s. The inauguration of the Grand Trunk Railway in 1865 brought demographic growth to Senneville, which was incorporated as a village 30 years later.
