The City of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue sits at the western tip of the island of Montreal where the Lake of Two Mountains meets Lake Saint-Louis. Boasting a population of over 5,000 inhabitants, it’s home to the Morgan Arboretum and the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal, both administered by Parks Canada.
Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue is named in part after Mary’s mother, the grandmother of Jesus, an in part to the sub-fief of Bellevue, granted in 1672. McGill University’s MacDonald campus and John Abbott College are both located in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. So is the Sainte-Anne’s veteran’s hospital. The picturesque Sainte-Anne Street continues to be a big part of the city’s famous charm.
